Is the "Vista method" still a good idea to use with Win7 and Win10?

What does "Vista method" really mean? Should we rename it?

In 832 donor 64-bit on Win7, it appears that color scheme setting "QuickFilterBackgroundColor" is not functional.

Can someone please confirm that it is not doing anything, or post a screenshot showing it working?

Two related questions:

1. How can one create hard links in FreeCommander?

2. The English language strings file contains "57072=Create hard link if possible - copy operation", so it seems possible, but I'm not seeing that string used anywhere in the UI. Where is it used?

I think I can confirm this issue. I've experienced it many times, but as H.Seldon mentions, it is very difficult to isolate a 100% reproducible scenario in which is always occurs (which is why I hadn't reported it yet). FC 830 64-bit donor has a bug when saving settings. Follow standard test procedures to create a new test profile. Look at the FreeCommander.ini file that gets created.
