If you have few important folders, you could lock the tabs for them.
The "Layouts" from 2009.02 are not implemented yet.

Is there a way (or will there be a way) to save multiple opened tabs and always have them at startup ?

Deactivate the option:
Tools-Settings-Folder tabs - Tab management: Close all not locked tabs, when the program ends

No problem with FreeCommander XE.
You need only to deactivate the option "Full row select" under Settings - File/folder list.

No problem here (Adobe installed for PDF, what is your PDF software).
You could try:
- set the icons to "registered" or "fixed": Settings - File/folder list - Icons
- deactivate the option "Show files tooltip": Settings - File/folder list - General

If you mean the icon symbol is not diplayed: check Settings - File/folder list - Icons for "Extracted".

Are you sure you have defined WinMerge on the Settings->Programs->Compare files tab?
Try the parameters: %FileCompare1% %FileCompare2%

Have you the problem only with the old zip files (created with 2009.02b)?

What about Settings-Drives: Do not show floppy drives (A:,B:). Try to deactivate the option.

Have you tried FreeCommander XE file containers (View->New file container tab)?
