Try to change the font size, as workaround:
Settings > View > File/folder list > Color/Font > Font button.

Re: Default ordering/view for new tabs only
If you mean tab path, it's not possible, you can click with middle button to drive, or to drive letter in the address bar, e.g. D: . You can also use Favorite tools, create a folder there and then click with middle button to this folder and the new tab with the path of this folder will be opened. Au...

Edit multiple files warning
For opening multiple files there's option "By ENTER on multiple selected files" - "Show warning", "Open only focused", and "Open all selected directly". When opening multiple selected files in editor (F4), warning dialog is missing, similar option would be use...

Re: [..] item suggestions
perhaps a message to ask if you want to proceed should the folder contain a large number of files and if more then one are selected then edit them without a warning. Option similar to existing "By ENTER on multiple selected files" could be added. BTW Such option is currently missing for E...

Re: 835 F4/Edit doesn't work when FC is first started.
Still can't find that topic, but I found another one, suggestion. Currently if the focus is on [..] item and you press F2, Multi rename dialog is opened with all items/file in folder, you don't even have to press Ctrl+A, that suggestion is about implementing this behavior for other actions too, as o...

Re: 835 F4/Edit doesn't work when FC is first started.
It's not a bug, as I said, you need to focus any file with Ctrl+Down arrow, or first click to any file, then press Ctrl+A and F4. I already suggested to change this behavior, because it's not intuitive, I'll add link here, if I find it. EDIT: I can't find that topic, I think Marek explained it, I'm ...

Re: 835 F4/Edit doesn't work when FC is first started.
Can't reproduce in 835, Windows 10 2004, custom and default settings. Are you sure that at least 1 file is also focused? I mean, when you enter the folder, press Ctrl+A and F4, it doesn't work, it's normal, because [..] item is focused, you have to move to selected file, Ctrl+Down (in not using NC-M...

Re: Opening photos
You're welcome.
Most good image viewers are free only for non-commercial usage.
Internal viewer is a solution, as I said, you can set it as default action, so you will be able to open images with Enter and double-click in internal viewer, like this:

Re: Exclude files in Recycle Bin when searching
In FC go to This PC - you can type <CSIDL:0 in address bar, middle click to edit, then double click to Recycle bin - if it's not opened in FC, right click Recycle bin here and select "Open with FreeCommander", you can do it also from icon in the splitter - middle toolbar. Once you're in Re...

Re: Setting for when clicking a file in thumbnail view
It's implemented as "ini option" for now (in build 830). - Implemented: New option to define in the [Form] section of the freecommander.ini - ThumbOpenAndSelectMode=1 ; When this line is defined, a click on the symbol opens the file / folder and a click on the label selects the file / fold...

Re: Opening photos
You are right, it's not a FC bug, but really ugly Windows "feature".
I don't think it's a problem, other image viewers are much better and they all work good.

Re: Exclude files in Recycle Bin when searching
I meant to add that item (::645FFF...) to exclude field in search, but I don't think it will be working. I just tried to search inside the recycle bin, that path (above) was added as path automatically, but it was not working. BTW, you can get that path by entering the recycle bin and open Search, i...

Re: Exclude files in Recycle Bin when searching
You can find the real path to Recycle bin in Settings > View > Tree > Excluded items, you can try to use it, but I'm not sure if it will be working.
