Question on viewer zoom feature
I ran version 740 for many months and the viewed image in the right side panel was always sized properly to fit the available area. Now, I run version 790 and the image in the right panel is often too large are too small when it first displays. I have to use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom to the cor...

Re: How to turn off Quick View Panel header?
OK, thanks. I found both:
Right click on the title bar ... a Configure viewer panel comes up ... on the General tab, uncheck the box at the bottom: Show title bar
Right click on the displayed image ... the uncheck Show action toolbar
I like the result! ... a much cleaner look.

How to turn off Quick View Panel header?
At the top of the Quick View Panel, there's a single line header for most types of files. But for images, there's a set of tools that includes rotate, resize and so forth.
Is there a setting that will remove the header and tools?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Odd result on very first Copy or Move
Good points!
I'm running 790a 32-bit. I should have checked if there was a later version.
If version 804 doesn't change the situation, I'll try the FreeCommander methods.
Thanks.

Odd result on very first Copy or Move
I'm running the public version (portable) on Win10. The very first time I use the Copy or Move feature (after starting FreeCommanderEX), no dialog appears. If I check the taskbar, a dialog window does exist. But when I click to display that window, it is only a dialog header ... with an X to close. ...

Re: How to fix weak font on selection dialog?
That is good news. Thanks for looking into the issue.
Is there a change a user can make in their PC's runtime environment? Or will it have to be in a future release of FreeCommander?

Re: How to fix weak font on selection dialog?
I want to report that changing the font (in the registry) for MS Shell Dlg did not help the situation. For reference, here's a solution for the same problem that was reported for a different application: http://www.raize.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=515 I can't begin to know what change would...

Can Quick View of ZIP display an icon?
Overall, FreeCommander XE does a great job at providing an appropriate Quick View of the different types of files But in my installation, ZIP files default to a unicode representation (... because they are "unknown"?) Is there a setting or method to cause an icon or image to be displayed? ...

Re: Any setting to detect external update to current files?
Thanks for pointing that out. I preview my posts ... but I was reading right past such an obvious (now) mistake. It is corrected.

Re: Any setting to detect external update to current files?
Thanks for your response. Per the information in your post, I did a test using Windows Explorer to delete individual files ... and watched FreeCommander's window. The window updated properly each tim e ... and it was not the window that had focus. My earlier results involved a 3rd-party program that...

Any setting to detect external update to current files?
FreeCommander is pretty good at keeping the current folder/file panel updated when moving or deleting files ... whenever FreeCommander is performing the operation. But I've noticed that the list does not update when some external program deletes a file. I've used other file managers that somehow sen...

Ideas for improving main panels
As shown in the mockup, below, it seems that two options could enhance the appearance of the tree and the details panel: 1. Allow the user to suppress the 'folder' icons in the tree, since they're all the same. It would look less cluttered. 2. Add an option to set folder names to bold in the details...

Re: How to fix weak font on selection dialog?
One additional point ... and I may be totally off base with this: The font appears to be Microsoft Sans Serif ... a fairly crude font. So, is it possible that FreeCommander is using MS Shell Dlg , while the other programs are using MS Shell Dlg 2 ? That would explain why a better looking font (Tahom...

Re: How to fix weak font on selection dialog?
Some clarification: I used the word "distraction". But to a new user, it might appear to be a "glitch" ... as in "what setting do I have wrong?" ... or "is this a bug in the software?" ... and even: "if this is a bug, what other bugs are there?". I t...

Re: How to fix weak font on selection dialog?
It is Windows dialog. How, then, can I change the font on a Windows dialog? But maybe a better question is: of the 20+ applications on my Win7 PC, why does the weak font only occur in FreeCommander dialogs . In other words, for the same kind of file selection dialog, ALL other applications display ...
