Why is Freecommander so slow?
Hi,
I am in the process of managing my files, which I haven't been done in almost 10 years.
There is a lot to do and I am using FreeCommander to do it.
I have often wondered why moving, copying and deleting files is so slow in this program.
However, now it is testing my patience.

difference between the unequal sign and the arrow that does not have a dot?
Hi,
QUESTION:
In folder synchronize, what is the difference between the unequal sign and the arrow that does not have a dot?
I am comparing a folder that contains about 500 folders that each have about 4 files each (or more).
The same folder exists on 2 different drives and just one is needed ...

Folder compare does not find dfferences.
Hi,
I have used compare/synchronize quite often with success for many years,
but now it appears to not work any more.
I am comparing a folder on C drive with a folder on a usb SSD, 549 files each folder.
There are about 10 files that are not the same, different content, even though they have the ...

Long time for program to start (win10)
Hi,
I love FreeCommander and have been using it for many years.
For me however, the program can take 10 to 30 seconds before it starts on win10.
Is there some kind of tweak to make it start quicker, like other programs?
I am using 2016 64-bit donor version.

thumbnails for rtf files
Hi,
I've been trying without success to get proper thumbnails for rtf files in FreeCommander.
It doesn't seem possible in windows file explorer, on windows 7 or 10.
In FreeCommander, I got somewhat of a result by adding "rtf" to "Settings/View/Thumbnails/Make thumbnails for text files".

Wrong folder sizes
Hi,
I've notice this before and again just now.
Sometimes the folder size displayed is wrong.
It is displaying the size of the folder right above it.
FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 716 64-bit donor in Windows 10
Any ideas how to fix this or is it a known bug?

I just had my first use for it and it worked. I just used it the once, though.

The first one however, is almost exactly the same as it lists only files fulfilling the criteria.
Right-click/properties shows the path.

You're welcome.
Explorer's "quick search" works the same as FC's "quick search".

Re: How to start quick search?
Just start typing to start quick search, for example, "fre" in FreeCommander install folder.
That's it!
Thanks Dreamer.
It is simple, but not indicated anywhere that I could find.
However, it doesn't work exactly like the Windows explorer search function.

I changed the title of my topic. Sorry, my bad.
I had written "quick filter" instead of "quick search".
