I get a delay at first start.
I think its Windows Defender checking it out.

It works as expected here. Have you tried another memory stick? It also 'fails' C Drive to C Drive. What I think what is happening is that maybe I am expecting file sync to work in a different way to how it was designed. I am using it as a way of backing-up files from the left to the right.
