Thank you! I turned off the setting and it is now working as expected:

Settings > View > Folder Tabs > Tab Mngment > Folder history per tab

FreeCommander XE 2015 Build 685a 64-bit donor

I have compared before, during, and after versions of FreeCommander.ini, these settings:

[Dir1_History]
[Dir2_History]

It seems that the folder history persists fine while FC is running, and saves to the .ini fine on close, but then is not loaded on ...

When I launch a 2nd or 3rd instance of FreeCommander (x64 v709) I get a pop up warning each time:
