Curious. At first, the fcstart.ini file was not present in the FC folder.
Now that I have created a Setting folder and pointed the program to it, the fcstart.ini file shows up.

I did notice the location of the settings files reported in the "about" path.
But I missed the Start Program Settings on the Settings Page.
I see it now, but I do not have an fcstart.ini file in my "C:/.../AppData/FreeCommander" path.
I see the settings files but there is no "fcstart.ini" file ...

I've loaded portable FreeComm unto a special partition of my drive where I keep all my other portables, so I can take them with me.
They are truly portable and cannot get contaminated by issues with Windows.

However, the settings for FreeComm are still saved in C:/Documents and Settings, so they ...

I have just discovered FreeCommander. I think I will love it.

I especially like the idea of the FreeCommander portable zip file version that does not require installation to run.
But does the portable zip download version have the same functionality and speed as the installed FreeCommander version ...
