Re: 828 - Hot track only setting doesn't stick when current view is on thumbnails

Will that ini setting be exposed in the s ui ettings in upcoming versions of FC Marek or will it always be hidden?

828 - Hot track only setting doesn't stick when current view is on thumbnails

This is a quirky one: This works: 1. Open FC with fresh settings. The view will be in list view. 2. Go to Select items in the settings. 3. Enable hot track only. 4. Set the time to 100ms. 5. Hot tracking works. Now for the bug: 1. Open FC with fresh settings. The view will be in list view. 2. Switch...

Re: Button for the address bar to copy the current folders name

I meant the action toolbar instead of the address bar. I can't seem to make a button for the command, despite staying up all night trying. Maybe someone else in the forum can show how to do it. There are far better "FC experts" here than I. Here's how you can do this in the normal favourite toolbar ...

823 - Drive names get truncated

In the new build, I've changed the Width of the volume name to 200 and this is the result.

It's truncating the longer drive name of Prince Naseem to Prince Nasee...

Re: 820 - In thumbnail view there's no indication that the filename is longer than can be displayed

I normally hoover over the file and read the tool tip to check its full name.

ED
I see there's an issue with tool tips also as per your bug report.

Re: 820 - In thumbnail view there's no indication that the filename is longer than can be displayed

+1. Workaround - For status bar create the item for images, for filter use "*.bmp;*.gif;*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.png;*.tga;*.tif;*.tiff" or other extensions if needed and for "Define details" add item "[fc_name]", this way you can see the full filename, just it doesn't work for folders. Does that only work f...

In thumbnail view show the full name of the file/folder regardless of name length or have a char limit setting

It would be nice to have an option in the View menu or a toolbar item to toggle the full/shorter names of thumbnails.

Or possibly to have a setting in the preferences to have a character limit under Setttings>View>Thumbnails.

820 - In thumbnail view there's no indication that the filename is longer than can be displayed

Marking this as a bug as there's no way of knowing of the name is longer than can be displayed.

Re: 819 - Rename dialog - Ctrl + Backspace doesn't work as I expected.

It's working when nothing is selected but when the text is highlighted as shown, it does delete the word to the left of the caret.

If you do the same in notepad it deletes the selection.

Re: 819 - Rename dialog - Ctrl + Backspace doesn't work as I expected.

The shortcut works in the search field and the address bar but not during the rename or in the properties panel name field. MS have probably not bothered to do anything about that behaviour. Here's a thread on superuser where you can change that behaviour across the board using AutoHotkey. https://s...

819 - Rename dialog - Ctrl + Backspace doesn't work as I expected.

In normal circumstances, the ctrl+backspace key will delete the word to the left of where the cursor lies.

But see here what it does.

Replace selected file(s) across the system or the users choosing

Let us say I have a file This is an exe.exe and I have this file in various locations throughout my system. It would be nice to have a new feature to scan the system for that file and overwrite them. This could be similar to the find option where it has these options. https://i.imgur.com/HwuCXh3.png...

818 64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit 1909
Same. But this happens all the time. If you make a narrow selection from the bottom. Right>Left it happens 100% of the time.

This work for me:
FreeCommander.exe "C:\path\with a %% symbol in it"

Found here.
Yeah, that's strange because doubling up the % works now. Was there something changed in 818?

I think I was trying this is 817 even though the title says 818 here. That was a mistake.
