I had the same "problem", now I just tried to change focus to the left panel, go menu>Tools>Save settings, exit FC and re-start and it works.
@Dreamer: Thank you for your help, but it did not work for me.
Also tried to save the layout when the left panel was active.
It's just annoying but I do ...

Start FC with focus on left panel
When I start FC with the commandline /L=MyLayout focus is on the right panel
I want FC to start with focus on the left panel but I don't know how.
Saved the layout with focus on left panel but that did not help.

I am using FreeCommander 64bit for a month now and I love it.
Reading this forum is also a way to learn more about the programm.
I receive an email when new discussions are submitted to the forum and that's nice.
It would be even nicer if I could subscribe to RSS feeds :wink:
