Re: Galaxy Note8 - Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP)
I guess this means that this Galaxy 8 does not support the USB mass storage device class , which would show the mobile device as a disk drive on a Windows computer, but only the PTP, the Picture Transfer Protocol PTP . The Galaxy would then appear in the Windows "Printers and devices" (my ...

Re: Document Viewer (text) doesn not linewrap
the first 3 bytes of the file are EF BB BF (binary characters). This causes the file to be interpreted as RTF format by the viewer. This "EF BB BF" is the so called BOM, and in this case identifies the file as encoded in UTF-8. BOM = 'Byte Order Mark' See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byt...

Re: Document Viewer (text) doesn not linewrap
Maybe Freecommander looks only at the max line length as configured in the Settings (300) instead of the actual width of the viewer's window.

Document Viewer (text) doesn not linewrap
This should work on typing the letter W, or clicking the corresponding icon in the text viewer. But neither works. The viewer shows text lines in the length as they are stored in the file, but does not break the lines at the right window border. This happens with FreeCommander XE 2019 Build 798 64-b...

Re: Better handling of ZIPped application file formats
Oops — i've just noticed that CTRL-ENTER does move the file name into the command line window.
But apparently CTRL-ALT-ENTER seems to be free for the new function suggested in my intial contribution.

Better handling of ZIPped application file formats
Quite a number of applications store their files in a ZIPped container format. Microsofts DOCX, XLSX etc are examples, most other use the OCF, the Open Container Format, also known as OEBPS Container Format in the specification for E-Books in the ePUB format, also Java's .jar archives, Open Document...

Re: Archive: Allow for ZIP-compressed container formats
You are slowly creeping towards understanding the problem. I was writing from the beginning that everything is working perfectly without any improvements, But it isn't, not at all. Unless one clings to the ignorance which you display. just do not add everything you want/see in the list of file name...

Re: Archive: Allow for ZIP-compressed container formats
P.S. You should understand, that if you add anything in the list of file name extensions to be treated as archives in Freecommander, they WOULD NOT be launched as Registry-registered application, their content would be opened in that case. That's the problem! Delete unnecessary extensions from the ...

Re: Archive: Allow for ZIP-compressed container formats
Plugin for what? FC XE uses plugins to open files as archives. Wer lesen kann, ist klar im Vorteil... please read my opening contribution in this thread. It is explained unequivocally that we are dealing here with files for specific applications which are packed as ZIP archives with a collection of...

Re: Archive: Allow for ZIP-compressed container formats
Well, I have tested it, of course. When I enter CTRL-PgDn, nothing happens. Using XE build 703. Then the problem is that you have no necessary plugin to open such content. Please attach example file (if it has no sensitive data) to find solution for you. Plugin for what? I have the specific applica...

Re: Archive: Allow for ZIP-compressed container formats
CTRL-PageDown works only when the extension is configured as Archive You are ABSOLUTELY wrong. Well, I have tested it, of course. When I enter CTRL-PgDn, nothing happens. Using XE build 703. but the actual application is not being loaded for CTRL-ENTER. As I wrote, you should use Ctrl+Enter -> Ente...

Re: Archive: Allow for ZIP-compressed container formats
As a workaround you can use Ctrl+PageDown to open such a container as an archive by Freecommander (even without adding extension to the list of file name extensions to be treated as archives in Freecommander) and Ctrl+Enter -> Enter to open such a container as application by the application itself ...

Archive: Allow for ZIP-compressed container formats
A growing number of applications uses a ZIP-compressed archive as their standard application file format. Some using the "Open Container Format" (OCF), others doing their own thing. I would like Freecommander to treat such application files as the MIME-Type for an EPUB-file suggests: appli...
