No - this is not changing the behaviour. The target window is still overlayed with the mentioned setting.

When switching to a remote path using ALT+g and entering the new location, an oberlay is displayed in the panel indicating the ongoing access.
Unfortunately, this pops up just after a few seconds and interrupts the legetimation dialog (to enter once credentials). This is annoying as the creadentials ...
