I did some more investigation. This also occurs if I use the copy function. The problem can be reproduced when the source files are in an archive. Versions prior to 898 do not do this. Hopefully this helps.

Starting with this release, a sync operation to copy and update with only "Files which exists on both sides" and "Files which exists only on the left" selected results in the updated files being sent to the Recycle Bin. I do not have the "Use recycle bin for delete operation...

The cause is "Synchronize|Options|Use selection colors from main window"

If I change the color scheme to White_Default, background is fine in Synchronize. I normally use one of Dreamer's color schemes and that seems to be the cause of the problem. I tried a few others to see what would happen and all the ones that I tried cause the problem. This is a new behavior in 853....

In 853 64-bit, background is black after compare in Synchronize window. Reverted to 852 and colors returned to normal.

Try:
exiftool(-k).exe

1) Select some files.
2) File name [n]v05
3) Rename
Preview (and reload) show renamed files, but the change is *not* written to disk.
