I think perhaps because it's looked upon as a "legacy thing" from old versions of Windows explorer, which had that as well. It has its place. .

Sent my 10 euros off to you today. I've been using Free Commander since 2009 and I thought it was time to show some appreciation (not just to get the x64 version). Free Commander has made my filing chores on my home PCs so much easier to do, and the new XE version even more so.

Might have posted a bit too soon. I found a FreeCommander.shc file in the C:\Users\Laura\AppData\Local\FreeCommanderXE\Settings\FreeCommander.shc0 folder and renamed it to FreeCommander.shc0 . Restarted FreeCommander and the old shortcuts were back (minus the two changes I made of course).
