Is it possible correct with Windwos typo?

By default when I press the Windows+E key Windows Explorer is launched. Is there a way to modify this behavious so that FC is launched instead?

What about other Windows+ keys??

I tried the reg thing with no luck, it complains about no entry-point on the .dll and probably just as well (read below)

For what it's worth I wouldn't spend much time on this, as I have a work-around in place (don't close FC with the focus on a folder which contains any large .zips ...

I think you may be on to something here...

If I have no .zips in the root directory and it had the focus prior to closing fc, the load time is ~1 sec.

Put a zip in the root repeat test, and load time increases to ~10sec.
Turn off tree view
Restart fc load time ~1 sec.

Were those zips in the root directory as I described?

I've checked all the usual suspects, defag, have disabled anti-virus etc.

Any suggestions on what else I could try???

The problem is not with double-clicking to open the archive with external .zip program.

The problem, is FC tries to display the content automatically. With .zips containing 50,000+ files and several GB of data, FC grinds to a halt trying to display the content of the .zips.

Further from previous post. Both of these are intermittant, seems to be affected if you select delete. Cancel. Then repeat the operation???

Possibly two bugs here:

On my PC (2 physical drives with about 6 partitions on each drive, FreeCommander takes about 4 seconds to respond after clicking the icon to launch it, and I'm not sure if I clicked it or not...

Using Vista, 4GB RAM, 3.0 GHZ P4 CPU

When clicking the KB icon to display the size of sub-directories, it doesn't activate and show the sizes, unless you explicitly click on a folder in the RHS pane first.

Ideally clicking the KB icone would enable/disable the size of sub-directories and refresh the display immediately.
