Re: TeraCopy not working with FC

Many thanks, Marek. It was working with 929...until today, and how TeraCopy drag-and-drop is again not working with FC. (TeraCopy drag-and-drop is still working with Win11 File Explorer though.)

Ooops, sorry, yes, it is Drag&Drop that TeraCopy isn't working with.

TeraCopy not working with FC

TeraCopy is no longer working with my "FreeCommander XE 2025 Build 928 64-bit donor". It still does work with my Win11 64-bit 24H2 File Manager.

I tried toggling off/on Register as Default Copy Handler in TeraCopy. I tried in FC settings "File/Folder Operations" setting Copy and Move to C:\Program ...

That you very much for your reply, Forez!

Hmm, I've been on Win10 just 17 months. Two years ago I was on 8.1 on a motherboard that died; I can't recall if it had this issue.

any selected item flashes until reboot

For years, sometimes any selected item in my left pane flashes. See video: https://file.io/1H1D23EyLbbc

IIRC it causes some kind of functional issues; it only stops if I close and re-open the program.

Re: Startup shortcut launches old version of FC

It was my mistake. The shortcut was launching the 64-bit version I had installed. It was just that I tried to 'update' it using a 32-bit version instead. I have to train myself to pick the 64-bit version to update!

Re: switching to 64-bit version

Thank you very much for your great reply, Dreamer!

I apologize for not finding that in the FAQ (that's impressively documented!).

I think I can now feel comfortable saving a copy of the /settings/ folder elsewhere, doing a thorough uninstall of FC 32-bit, then installing FC 64-bit.
Edit: Wow, that ...

switching to 64-bit version

I've been using the 32-bit version
(FreeCommander XE 2021 Build 850 32-bit donor)
by mistake.

When I switch to the 64-bit version will my customizations automatically persist?

(Providing I guess that I don't uninstall the 32-bit version first.)
(As it happens, I listed those customizations in ...

Startup shortcut launches old version of FC

I've used FC for years, but I'm on Windows 10 (Pro 64-bit) for the first time. I'm surprised to find that when I update FC, on reboot it's Startup shortcut launches the first version I installed (until I replace it each time with a current shortcut to "C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeCommander XE ...

'File Explorer'-type settings

I came to FC for a different reason than many. I like the 'File Explorer' format, but couldn't live without a column that shows the size of folders. In case someone who feels the same way comes along, here are the settings I use to do this (and to do some other stuff I like):

F10 (one panel)

803 d/l link delivers 802 again

The download link for 803 delivers FreeCommanderXE-32-donor_setup802.zip again.

I guess maybe it's a new/different 802, but plainly that would be confusing.

Aaaaa! Yes, that works perfectly. (Thank goodness I have a numeric keypad.)

Re: How can I expand (collapse) all of the folders in the tree v

Select one node in the tree and than press +(Num) or x(Num)
Thank you very much for your reply, Karol!

I think that is exactly what I have done. But I'd be very grateful for a little clarification because I'm not sure I completely understand anything about your instructions:
1.
"+(Num)"

Re: How can I expand (collapse) all of the folders in the tr

Expand one level: + (Num)
Expand all: x (Num)

You can define shortcut for the action "Tree -collapse all".
I can't get those commands

+ (Num)
x (Num)

to do anything for me. The "Tree-collapse all" shortcut I assigned will collapse, but that would only help me if I could expand.

Not really ...
