I can confirm that with Notepad++ and PsPad it works, while with Textpad and Notepad2 not.
Any other experiences with other editors?

Thanks horst.epp, I wrote %ActivItem% but I intended %ActivSel%, sorry about that.
Anyway, I created a favourite toolbar with a button for Textpad but it doesn't seem to work :( , it opens correctly the files I selected plus a blank new document.
I tried also to set up with F3 invokation but still ...
