Re: Disable 'create link'
Freezing must have been some setting I was using as tried a fresh install and Freecommander is OK now with 'vista+ for all drives' set, does having that set stop the 'create link' as it seems to be just defaulting to copy or move now, depending on action.

Re: Disable 'create link'
Have found that Freecommander freezes when I select either 'vista+' option and then 'apply' or 'OK' and have to close it with task manager and it goes back to 'freecommander method when I start it again. PC has just done the update to Win 10 AU x64, don't know if that might have anything to do with ...

Re: Disable 'create link'
I've got a 'vista+' option for 'all drives' or 'not local drives' but can't find an option to 'deactivate - Create hard link ' appearing when I select either vista+ option.

Disable 'create link'
Freecommander often tries to 'create a link' when I am trying to copy or move things, is there any way to disable this or switch to 'copy' as the default at all times?
Have looked through all the settings but haven't found anything that looks relevant.

Re: XE zip file - "access denied"
Are you using Win 10, I have had a lot of problems with permissions in that and it can get a bit involved by-passing them.

Re: Beta 694
I was not aware of an option like this, I always get a menu pop-up from right-clicking on a file or folder.
I can select multiple items with left-click for single, left-click & shift for items in sequence or left-click & ctrl for multi non sequential.

Re: FC on Win 10
Been trying to add a screen shot but the forum keeps logging me out every time I click on 'add the file' - is there any trick to it? It's in the main panels, I don't have the tree visible most of the time. In right panel start I have ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} which came up when I clic...

FC on Win 10
I have been trying Freecommander on the preview of Win 10 and wondered if anyone might have any idea about how to remove the desktop and library folders from the 'this PC' (my computer) view. It is possible to collapse the folder part of the view and just show drives in the version of file manager i...

Re: open FC with c: expanded
It's settings-start program then the start/temp folder tab, select start with following folders and just put the paths in to whichever folders you want the left and right panes to open with.

Re: Folder/file Syncronise
It wasn't the content of individual files I was comparing/syncronising but when comparing things like document folders on different devices and then updating one folder if the other folder had files of the same name but possibly a different date or size. I hadn't tried enough things when I posted th...

Folder/file Syncronise
I have been trying to use syncronise and wondered if there was any way to update one side that FC marks files as 'unequal files'. The sync dialog has "Files which exist on both sides" which would seem to be the tool for the job but the "copy with overwrite" box is grayed-out and ...

Re: Default column settings
It's build 650, I can't find anything in help-about regarding 32 or 64 bit but win task manager shows it running as a 32 bit process. I have been running it from it's original install folder instead of the RAM drive but it still behaved the same regarding columns so I deleted the settings folder and...

Re: Default column settings
To add to previous. I tried setting an ordinary folder to open in each pane of FC and setting my column preferences, then I selected 'save settings' from the tools menu and closed FC, it reopened with all the old settings! I have selected the option to save all it's settings to it's install folder b...

Re: Default column settings
I have FC starting with one drive root in the left pane and my computer in the right. On startup, the column settings in the left pane are not as I previously set them. If I open a drive from my computer in the right pane it goes to the same column settings as the left pane and not the ones I have d...
