Yellow triangle with exclamation mark in Search window
I just noticed, I have this triangle sitting in the lower right corner of my search window: https://i.postimg.cc/gj0rjpsz/image.png It's there as soon as I open the search window and does not change, even after successful or unsuccessful searches. It does not show any hover text. Update: it's not re...

Re: Settings takes 30+ seconds to open
I was wondering if it is due to the fact that the directory is dropboxed.
But an unmirrored directory shows exactly the same delays.
With my old portable installation, I recently reached a 40 seconds delay.

Re: Settings takes 30+ seconds to open
Hi Marek, please note that you can consider this a low-priority issue and I would be fine if you'd say that it is what it is. I'm not using settings that often. But happy if you want to dig into it. On my freshly unzipped portable version, time to open settings is constantly between 13 and 15 second...

Re: Settings takes 30+ seconds to open
I recently updated to the latest Build 892 64-bit donor and did some more testing. Still no significant improvement. It may also be useful to know that I use the portable version of FC. But directly in a directory of the C: drive of my built-in SSD on a fairly new Dell Precision running an up-to-dat...

Re: Stupid - can't find the donor download site
Wow, admittedly I don't update very often. But same thing happened again. Looking for the donor site for 15 minutes. Was about to hunt down my saved links. After I found it, I wanted to create a feature request, searched the forums first and found my old request. :| But your explanation is understan...

Settings takes 30+ seconds to open
I migrated my FreeCommander to a new computer and updated it to Build 889 64-bit while doing so. (It seems that) since then, it takes more than 30 seconds to open the settings menu. During this time, FC is frozen. Windows says it is "Not Responding". However, it still consumes below 1% CPU...

Re: Quick filter stays when switching tabs
I use a setup with just one detail pane but many tabs (similar to the new File Explorer in Windows 11). In order NOT to keep the Quickfilter on when changing between tabs (with Alt+Tab), I had to deselect both settings here: Keep filter on for folder change Keep filter on tab change But then the Qui...

Stupid - can't find the donor download site
I just spent 30 minutes on the FC homepage to find the donor download site. Both on the English and German pages.
I now found the link in the FC program's help menu. But is there a reason why it's not on the homepage? Or am I blind or stupid?

Drag&Drop Target in FCE not resolved at Drop time
When I drag and drop a file or URL from outside of FCE to FCE and change the FCE tab with CTRL+TAB while still hovering, the source is dropped into the tab that was showing when the FCE window became active. I.e. the drop target seems to be determined when the FCE window becomes active and not when ...

Forum Links on Homepage
This is not an FC bug, but a bug on the homepage... On the homepage, there are different links to the English forum: 1) In the upper menu bar, the Forum link is https://freecommander.com/forum 2) On the right side and at the bottom of the page there is a round button with a person on it that links t...

Fast Wipe
Would it be possible to speed up the wipe file function? Afaik with modern magnetic drives it is no longer required to write several patterns. With SSDs, multiple writes put unnecessary stress on the disk. One pass with zeroes or random numbers should be enough. Maybe it could be solved with checkbo...

Re: Crash with Syncplicity File Context Menu
Hi Timon, Dreamer, I somehow missed your updates. I have updated to FreeCommanderXE-64-donor_portable788, now. There is still an issue, but rather than FC crashing when the tool closes, it now crashes when the tool opens. Positive: the tool keeps running and I can complete my action, e.g. send a fil...
