I now see that a new freecommander.ini was created when I saved new settings.

That worked. Details are now showing.

Do I leave the freecommander.ini disabled?

Will settings or preference changes be saved if it's not enabled?

After selecting "Details View" I see no file details (size, date, type, etc.) in right column. Only the FileName column is displayed, with an empty column to the right of it.

Details for the selected file do show in the status bar at bottom though.
