Copying files from Anroid/camera not working
I am using FreeCommander XE 2017 Build 740 32-bit public on a Win 10 64 bit i7 system. I recently noticed that I can use FreeComander to browse to a USB device like my Samsung S4, or a Canon camera, and go through directories, but I can not copy files from those devices over to my PC. I'm sure I use...

Drives listed twice in Windows 10
I am using version XE 2016 build 715 32-bit public on a new install of Windows 10 64 bit. In Windows Explorer I saw that every drive (I have several) is listed twice (once under 'this PC', and then again one level up). I found a post online about a regedit change to change that. It worked. FreeComma...

Columns auto-resize despite settings
I am using FC XE 2014 build 650 on Win 7 64 bit and Win 8.1. I display a single tree/file pane, make a file view column smaller, then click on a file, rename it (shortening the name), press return, and the columns resize as if set to auto re-size. The setting View - File/Folder list - Max Column wid...

How to setup FreeCommander to be default file browser
I am using FC XE 2014 build 650.
Is there a way to set it up, so that it is sort of the "default" file browser instead of Windows Explorer ?
For example, in another program, a pic viewer or whatever, I can right click on a directory and select "Open".
It opens the directory int Windows Explorer.

Dragging a PDF file (via icon) opens mini preview
When I try to drag a PDF file somewhere, FreeCommander XE opens a mini preview of the file next to it as I move it. On my system, it then makes it hard to see where it is I am moving it to.
How can that be disabled ?
I am using XE version 2014 build 650 on a Windows 8 64 bit system.

New install - can't recall how to display folder size in FC
How does one set up FC XE version 0.0.0.621 to display folder sizes ?
I had done this in the regular version - but prefer the great improvements of XE.

Attempted use on Windows 7 Install (almost) leads to suicide
I had security related issues with previous install of Windows 7. Totally re-setup my system with what you might call a standard Windows 7 installation. When I attempted to install FC XE latest version ... ???? Gave up. When I atempted to change view via your View menu, I was repeatedly told C:\user...

Re: Can you stop moving ?
XE Version 0.0.0.609 appears to have added some bizzare behavior. When initially beginning a search (while search is underway) the "Search files/folders" window is highly compressed. Very small. WHY ? Why is the size defaulted to small all the time. Ok, so assign it a size by pulling a number out of...

Can you stop moving ?
Is there an option to set the "Search files/folders" window to stop jumping around the desktop ?
If I move it over there, I moved it because I thought it would be nice there. Why not just leave it
there ?

Re: Is it possible to sort by file type ? IN FILE SEARCH RE
Hello - it is just in the search results window from what I saw.
I looked at the XE download page ... it is dated 1/12/2012 ... I assume I'm using that version as I installed less then 4 months ago I believe.
You must not have been talking about the XE version .... ?
Thanks

Is it possible to sort by file type ? IN FILE SEARCH RESULT
I use version XE 0.0.0.591 on a Win 7 64 bit machine. In the file search results list .... I click on the "Type" column header, the display changes, the arrow goes back and forth from up to down to up. But the sort is not valid. Files of .jpg and intermixed with .pdf, etc, etc, etc. Sort does not wo...

Set Windows 7 to use FreeCommander XE in place of Explorer
I searched the forums here to try to find out a straight forward means of configuring Windows 7 (I'm running the 64 bit version) to use FreeCommander XE (version 0.0.0.591) in place of Windows Explorer as the DEFAULT file manager. I found plenty of explanations - but they all seemed to be for the NO...

Added column lost after restart - how to save it ??
I am using FC XE 0.0.0.591 on Windows 7 64 bit.
When I add a new column to the details view, and select Save Settings from the tools menu, it does not appear to
be saved. If I exit the program and restart it the added column is gone.
Am I doing something wrong ?
