You can try to delete unimportant files, or/and just wait few days.

Settings (F12) - View - Viewer - Image - use mouse wheel for: "switching files", Ctrl+wheel will use the opposite option.

Shift+wheel works too, just it works vice versa, possibly a bug.

The same with Alt+wheel.
