Show "Details" format for all file lists

Is it possible to use the "Details" format for all file lists? I set it that way for one folder, then it changes to icons when I go to a folder of images. Way back in WinXP it was possible to go to Folder Options / Display all folders like the current one -- or words to that effect. I hope...

Re: What happened to FTP function?

Problem solved!! The New Connection link was missing until I closed FC and restarted it, then, there it was and the rest is obvious.

Re: How to open html file in Notepad++?

Joby quoted Dirk, "...using a favorite" and Dirk replied "Hmmm, sorry, I am not quite sure what this could mean." I don't know what it could mean either. I had not noticed that in the original post and I could not make out what Joby was getting at with what looks like a page from...

Re: How to open html file in Notepad++?

Interesting. I'm glad you understood Joby's answer, Dirk, because I don't have a clue what it means. The simple way to open an html file in Notepad is to right-click the filename in FC, then go to Open With, slide the mouse pointer to the right and click on Notepad if it is offered or Choose Program...

Re: What happened to FTP function?

New problem on same basic subject: FTP. I've been using FC-2009 for all my FTP work for several years but going to only one site. Now I want to set up another site and I've totally forgotten how I set up the first one. When I open FTP it brings me to my existing site and offers no clue as to how to ...

Re: What happened to FTP function?

Thanks Dreamer, I've got it. I was not aware of that feature in FC-2009. It seems to be the default in FC-XE.

And thanks, Marek, for the info about FTP coming soon in XE.

Re: What happened to FTP function?

Thanks, that works. Sure is more awkward than D&D. I was certain I used D&D a couple years ago but I guess not if it was never implemented.

Will FTP become available in XE at some point? Or is it already there and I just can't find it??

What happened to FTP function?

I have used FC-2009 to send files to my web site but now it does not work. I can open the web site and see the file list but it will not allow me to drag a file from my computer onto the web site -- like it used to. I have also tried FC-XE, which appears not to have an FTP function at all -- at leas...

Re: FC does not recognize new digital camera as a drive

I have now installed FC-XE on another computer running Win7 64bit. Just like on XP, it does assign drive letters to the three memories in the Canon HF S30. I've noticed two differences in how XE works under Win7 compared to WinXP: 1. It does recognize the thumbnails for the pix and video files, whic...

Re: FC does not recognize new digital camera as a drive

jrsva's experience is not specific to Canon or any other particular camera or media player, but is entirely related to it being a Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) device -- in contrast to a Mass Storage Class (MSC) device such as USB drives and some cameras and media players. Thanks Scott, That's what...

Thanks Ralf. That led me to this:
MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) Support

I guess that is my problem. I sure hope Marek can address it in the new FC-XE.

Re: MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) Support

Ah, I guess this is my problem. I posted the topic, "FC does not recognize new digital camera as a drive" http://www.forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3820 My 8-year-old Sony digital camera is recognized properly but my new Canon Vixia HF S30 is not recognized. Windows Explor...

Re: How to log off from an FTP session?

OK, thanks for the search tip, Karol. I tried the Custom Google Search and it worked fine, easily locating the thread you provided the link for, so I also have my answer for logging off. I was using the search feature in the upper right, where it says "FAQ, Search, Members, UCP." That sear...
