However, sometimes start position of characters I need in not the same for all files. Is there no solution to use wildcard like '|' ?

Is it possible to multi-rename files from this format:

IMP_GFY_01_kasprgfy_ 385579 _2012-01-10_18-29-21.txt
IMP_GFY_01_sanecgfy_ 440743 _2012-01-11_17-34-49.txt
...
IMP_GFY_01_gadowgfy_ 486581 _2012-01-12_17-32-44.txt

to this:

385579 .txt
440743 .txt
...
486581 .txt
