Hmm... You might check the save and backup features in Settings > General > Settings.

Thank you Scott_Y, I'll install Ver. LO 3.6.1.
Meanwhile I installed Freecommander XE to manage the problem.
It didn't show instability but itg has another problem: it loses its configuration when I shut it down.

During the last days Freecommander began to crash repetedly; it had crashed very seldom before.
