Re: Include fstart.ini file in portable package, please!

I downloaded and unpacked the archive FreeCommanderXE-32-public_portable921.zip as you instructed.

There is still no fstart.ini file in the settings folder. [Or in the main folder either.]

Is this file really needed?? I don't have one with the 64-bit portable version and it works just fine.

Is ...

If an item has a pause sign at its end
What kind of "item" are you talking about? Give an example!

What is a "pause" sign? Again, give an example!

Re: Folder synchronization very slow

I am using Free Commander release 900 64-bit donor with Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.3803

I checked the options tab in the Synchronize window and there was no option to use the recycle bin.

I searched the FreeCommander.ini file and there was nothing.

I searched the FreeCommander.sync.ini and there ...

Re: Folder synchronization very slow

I noticed the same slow update with FC release 900 about 2 weeks ago.

I switched back to release 894 and synchronization is fast again.

Re: Synchronize Folders Display Problem

I have been running with all options selected except "Activate Profiles Tab First".

When I un-select "Auto compare on Profile change or Dialog open" all works correctly.

I guess that with the auto compare the program forgets to write the display page to the window.

I will stop using auto compare ...

Synchronize Folders Display Problem

In all versions of FreeCommander that I have tested starting with release 854 through 884, the Synchronize Folders operation displays a Blank Screen while the comparison of the folders is running in the background.

For folders with many sub-folders and many files (2,000 to 8,000 files) the blank ...

horst.epp:

In comparison to the older versions, the 1 second delay appears to be an error in programming.
The display should present itself smoothly.

I start FreeCommander several times a day, to answer your question.

Re: Version 860 opening

I downloaded version 860 64 bit portable and unpacked it into a new folder.

I used the default settings, but added:
1 tree per panel on the left
selected detail view (with a few column width adjustments)

The result is that on program start, the Detail view panes are displayed instantly,
but the ...

Re: Version 860 opening

The FCXE Portable version is the only one I use. Version 828 (64 bit and 32 bit) are the latest versions that work correctly.

I have the display problem with Version 845 (64 bit and 32 bit) portable. I have not installed later 32 bit versions yet.

The latest 64 bit version I have installed is 854 ...

I have also noticed this behavior. Ever since release 828 the panels open in odd sequence.

I keep hoping this will be fixed, but until then I am still using release 828.

Re: Icons for toolbars and menus

I didn't think the old icons were still in use.
In the next release you need to define in the freecommander.ini:
[Icons]
UseOutdatedBmps=1

I am very happy to get the original icons back.

May I suggest that the line in the freecommander.ini file be shown as

[Icons]
UseFlatIcons=0

Re: Icons for toolbars an menus

I agree completely! The flat icons are terrible.

Please give us a way to at least get the old icons so we can add them back - one-by-one - if we choose.

A zip file with the old icon collection would be good. Putting them back into the EXE file would be fantastic.

Re: Network drives are not re-checked when opening freezed tabs

In the "Define Action Toolbars" function, there is a function called "Refresh Network", which appears to use the "Reset the cached server list" command (Ctl-Alt-R).

I have previously reported that this does not seem to do anything. Maybe it should be fixed so the network connections can be re ...
