Re: recent through 767: initial lower-left pane too wide

Marek,

Many thanks for the build 768 fix for this issue. Indeed, the problem has now disappeared.

Upper/lower split and last-set pane locations are now retained across F10 toggles.

Case closed.

recent through 767: initial lower-left pane too wide

This problem is still a problem in latest 767, but it's been happening for a number of releases now. I operate in over/under split screen mode, with explorer tree on the left pane and folder contents on right pane, within each split. In other words in split screen mode I have 4 panes, and in non-spl...

Re: 747: bug or setup issue? - Favorites -> Edit, giant font

Have you high resolution monitor? Try to set and save the font size and item height for the favorites tree http://www.freecommander.com/fchelpxe/en/ColorFontIcon.html. You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. This was EXACTLY the problem setting I needed to change. I never touched this setting from...

747: bug or setup issue? - Favorites -> Edit, giant font

I went to remove a folder I'd added to Favorites. Right-click on that folder didn't present a popup menu with DELETE on it, so I instead proceeded through Favorites -> Favorites - edit..., which seemed reasonable. Well, the dialog then presented appeared to show my current Favorites list so that I c...

Re: Windows CHM help file shows only table of contents

Actually, this problem had seemed familiar and I was certain I'd run into it before, although I certainly didn't use Streams to resolve it. A bit more research shows that it has already been anticipated in the README for FCXE: Trouble with the help file ========================== When viewing your C...

Re: Windows CHM help file shows only table of contents

Indeed! It does appear that using the "streams -s -d *.*" from command-line (where I downloaded Streams from the English Microsoft SysInternals site ) did the trick. It seems reasonable that this should actually be the very delivered format of the CHM zip file, as it is a bit of an obscurity to "ave...

True.

For better tracking, this is an official new feature request... derived from that other original discussion thread.

Re: Plain View Files - sorting on column heading behaves wro

Already discussed here http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7138 (original topic) I understand. That was "general discussion" and this is "bugs". I didn't know it was a bug originally, and thought maybe it was some FCXE usage I didn't know how to do properly which caused my results. ...

Search/filter view for imbedded EXIF data, etc.

JPG picture files from cameras typically contain many imbedded metadata fields, e.g. EXIF fields. These extended fields are recognized by Windows and FCXE, and can be displayed as additional columns in Windows Explorer and FCXE if you manually add them. Similarly, MP3/FLAC etc. music files also have...

Plain View Files - sorting on column heading behaves wrong

If a "parent" folder (containing sub-folders) is selected and then View -> Plain view files is selected, all of the files from all of the sub-folders are presented in a single list, as if there were no sub-folders. However if you then click on a column heading to sort the single file list on that co...

Re: Why can't I sort on a column in Plain View??

Yes, you're right, it doesn't work as expected. It does sort the list, but it does it folder by folder (as if it's not in plain view mode), so it's no use... Yes, that was my speculation. Clearly I expected "plain view files" to be a "flattening" of a parent folder, with all of the subordinate file...
