In the second screenshot, filter icon is visible on the filter tab. This means that a filter is active.

This option works fine, it is for the tree - I thought you meant the option for file list.

Alt+F1, Alt+F2 currently works if one of the option is active (Settings->Drives):
- Show drive button in address bar
- Show drives as popup button

It was changed in the release 905.
Alt+F1, Alt+F2 works regardless of the options.

7 seconds for the search dialog is really long time.
With "Tools->Start new instance of FreeCommander with default settings" you can start clean FreeCommander.
Try it and check the search dialog with default settings.

If you have the option in the Settings dialog - it means you use old program version.
This option was removed some time ago.

The option AlwaysLoadFileAllocatedMemorySize= is implemented only for files not for the folders. I also have no plans to implement this function for folders. That would cost too much performance. Are you using folder tree in the custom ini? If yes try without.
Otherwise send me your custom ini.
