Respectfully ... I have FC open all the time. The next day, no thumbnails. If it were building in the background, I think I'd see some little CPU or Disk usage spike for that process. Why would it even do that? If I moved a file would I have to wait 20 minutes to see it? I'm not the person who wrote...

OK reinstalled earlier version.
Still no thumbnails.
So, I'm guessing that FC is relying on something from the OS that's not being provided.
What would that be?

All file types get a default generic thumbnail, where before, images and videos showed a content preview thumbnail.
It doesn't seem to discriminate.
