How to change the font type, color, size etc, of the text in Multi Rename interface?

I am facing a problem: In the Multi-Rename tool, whenever a file name is affected by the renaming rules, the filename is changed to light green.
It is difficult to see this text in white background.
Worse, when the filename is selected, the new name preview becomes totally invisible.

I could not ...

Re: How to set a keyboard shortcut to "Sort on created date"

Ok thanks!

As I understand, in the free version, this change would appear at the end of 2024, right?

Re: How to set a keyboard shortcut to "Sort on created date"

Yes, of course.

But I didn't want to add the Created Date column to maximize the space for the Name column.
(My file names are very long.)

I only want to check out the latest files I have downloaded, so that I can rename them properly.
I do not need to check out their actual created dates.
I ...

How to set a keyboard shortcut to "Sort on created date"

Hi

I am using the latest FC on Win 11.

I always use the folder panels in Details view.
I need to frequently change the sorting between Name and Created date columns.

How do I set sorting on Created date using the CTRL+F5 shortcut?

QuickViewer slows down renaming

I download many files from internet.
Most of them have a cryptic name, so I rename them after their title.
I use the QV to view the first page of the file, and copy the title from there.
Then I press F2 and paste the copied text in the file's name.
Then I press ENTER to complete the renaming ...

Re: Select by drawing rectangle does not work anymore: All columns are active

BTW I found the FreeCommander.ini file here:
C:\Users\<userName>\AppData\Local\FreeCommanderXE\Settings\Bkp_Settings_2023-12-13 07-59-23

Is that the correct file?

I am asking this because I could not find the FileListRowSelect=0 parameter listed there.
I experimentally added the FileListRowSelect ...

Re: Select by drawing rectangle does not work anymore: All columns are active

But earlier there was an option to select items:
1. Select only when the rectangle touches the text in the Name column,
2. Select when the rectangle passes over the blank space on the right in the Name column.

I had selected the second option, so that I would not miss the short file names during ...

Select by drawing rectangle does not work anymore: All columns are active

I installed the 900 build just now.
I ran the executable without uninstalling the older (880) version first.

In my old version, I had disabled the "whole row selection" option.
So I could click on any column except the Name column, and start drawing a rectangle with the mouse to select multiple ...

quickViewer steals the focus after I updated the SumatraPDF executable to 3.5.x

I am using FC 880 Public on Windows 11 Home.

I always use the folder panels in Details view mode (CTRL+F2).

I am also using three plugins to view the items in QuickViewer:
sLister+SumatraPDF
uLister+Oracle Outside In Technology
multimedia

All the plugins worked just fine.
But I have started ...

Re: How to launch ReNamer with selected files?

Thanks indeed: That was a wonderful tip!
(I use a lot of powerful apps, and it is very difficult to remember all hotkeys in all those apps. So it's best to set the hotkeys logically.)

SHFT+F2 it is! 👌🏽

Maybe there is some difference in ReNamer, which is why %ActivSelName% didn't work.
I don't ...

Re: How to launch ReNamer with selected files?

Thanks for the rapid response!

BTW the %ActivSelName% parameter did not work: The selected files were not passed to ReNamer.
I changed the parameter to %ActivSel% and that works.
(Recording here so that other users can benefit.)

I set the hotkey and now it works in one shot.

How to launch ReNamer with selected files?

I often use the powerful bulk renaming app: ReNamer .

Currently, I have added the path to the ReNamer executable to the "Send to" folder.
Thus, after selecting multiple files in the FC's Folder panel, I right click and then select the Send to option, and then select the ReNamer option.
This ...

Re: QV uses uLister instead of mmedia plugin, requires SHFT+ALT+M to view videos

Solved!

I had overlooked the solution that is already provided in the same post.

Here is a summary of the steps I followed:

1. Download the zip file provided in this post
2. Create a new installation folder, and extract the following 32-bit files in it:
mmedia.wlx, MediaInfo32.dll, mmedia.ini ...
