Ok, so this bug has already been resolved?
Do we then still additionally have to change any settings to keep the tree collapsed, like e.g. the setting Make selected node automatically visible (yes/no) ? Or is collapsed now the default option?
And how and when do we get that release 898?
Thank you

Tree View can't stay collapsed
Hello and thanks for making the outstanding FreeCommander. I'm running FreeCommander XE 2023 Build 880 32-bit public and it's a great piece of software!
But it has the following bug:
The Tree View can't stay collapsed , no matter which combination of settings I choose. It always follows the path ...

Re: Impossible to keep the "Tree" collapsed
I would if I could. But given that it happens very frequently and that you as the maker know your product best and have an interest in making it work (I assume) I guess you will easily be able to figure it out. Just use your own product and watch how the tree unfolds despite having deactivated this ...

Re: Impossible to keep the "Tree" collapsed
Then probably you didn't observe it long enough in all possible situations. I just want it to stay collpased, except if I explicitly navigate it by clicking it with my mouse. But it also unfolds in other situations.

Re: Impossible to keep the "Tree" collapsed
I want the tree to always stay folded (collapsed) except if I click on it. But it always expands from my point of view randomly, no matter what settings I choose. I would upload screenshots if this forum would let me, but you know what I mean by now anyway I guess.

Impossible to keep the "Tree" collapsed
...probably because deactivating
Tools → Settings → View → Tree → Management → Follow location s in the active panel

Set filter → exclude
Hello,
first of all many thanks for making FreeCommander — it's so much better than Windows File Explorer (apart from start-up time, where File Explorer clearly wins).
Also the filter is very handy. However, can you please include an " exclude " option (no pun intended) on the main Set filter ...

"Wipe" on SSDs?
It's great that FreeCommander thought of a wipe action. However, similar tools and experts tell that overwriting deleted files on SSDs is not effective and data thus recoverable on SSDs due to their internal workings. Can FreeCommander guarantee that its wipe action is effective even on SSDs?

Re: Shortcut & icon for "open folder in other panel"-action
Ok, so it's there, it's just hidden in even within the Define keyboard shortcuts submenu, without explicitly filtering for it it doesn't show. Thanks to your linked guide I found it and it works, great, thanks!
However, may I still encourage you to make "open folder in other panel"-action visible ...

Shortcut & icon for "open folder in other panel"-action
FreeCommander is such a great tool, and if it was only for the second window pane which is still missing in the native Windows File Explorer. All the more astonishing it is that FreeCommander doesn't make 100% use of this killer-feature by not assigning (or allowing the user to assign himself) a ...
