Re: Exiftool & TimeStamp Format
Thanks Ruby,
I have found how to use ExifToll and add labels.
My question is more specific : is there a way to use the TimeStamp format field that defines layout of dates. For the time being, I have to use a regular expression to use my own custom format.
Regards.
Jean-Pierre

Re: Multi Rename EXIF data not working with CR3 Files (Solved)
Thanks again for all your support. Switching to exiftool tags helps me also for video file. In case, it may help others, I now use the following tags to rename my multimedia files : for JPG : [exif_taken] for MOV (iPhone) : [exift_CreationDate] for MP4 (camera) : [exift_DateTimeOriginal] for CR3 : [...

Exiftool & TimeStamp Format
In multirename, TimeStamp Format works fine for Exif Tags. However, I don't know how to make it work for ExifTool tags. Is there a solution ?

Re: Multi Rename EXIF data not working with CR3 Files
Thanks Timon. You led me to review my installation. This is the first time that I use Exiftool. And read again installation instructions. I had not removed the (-k) in the file name. Now it seems working fine and fast enough. Thanks to Marek and to you Jean-Pierre Note: 64 bits version. It seem that...

Re: Multi Rename EXIF data not working with CR3 Files
I had a further look a your help file and understand better your answer : you provide acces to Exif Data through ExifTool. So there should be a way to achieve what I need, through use of this tool. Great. However, I still have an issue. I installed version 903. I installed ExifTool (latest version) ...

Re: Multi Rename EXIF data not working with CR3 Files
Thanks for the quick reply.
This is very unfortunate. "Picture - EXIF" is working very well with CR2 files. I have trouble finding how to use ExifTool to add [Exif_Taken] in the file name.
Thanks in any case
Jean-Pierre

Multi Rename EXIF data not working with CR3 Files
Hello, I am using FreeCommander's multi rename to add [exif_taken] in front of the names of my pictures. FreeCommander is extremely flexible. Unless I am mistaken, latest 900 version still works with CR2 files, but not with the new Canon CR3 file format. This is very penalizing. Thanks in advance fo...

Sidecar files
Hello, Many picture Management softwares use sidecar files to store additional information about pictures, to avoid changing the original files ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidecar_file ). The source files and the sidecar files are linked through a naming convention. Either source : xxx.ext1 --->...

Regex with accented characters
Hello, I have tried to use multirename with file names with accented characters. I uses "\pL" which is supposed to match any Unicode letter. Unfortunately this does not seem to work for freecommander (I tried also \p{L} and \p{Letter}). I had to use [A-zÀ-ÿ] which is cumbersome. Is the any...

media creation date in multirename
I use a lot the multirename feature to organize my pictures. This is incredibly powerful. How can I insert the "media creation date" of a MOV file into the file name ? Through the multirename feature or by setting Windows' "date creation date" field with the value "media cre...

Solution to my previous post :
Search for : (\()(\d\))
Replace with : (0$2
Tick "regular expression"

Re: Multi-rename regex replace
I finally discovered through another forum post that $ followed by a digit, can be used in "replace with" to reuse the matched expression.
I did not find this in the documentation.

Multi-rename regex replace
Hello, I am trying to use multirename regex capability. I am able to create a regex for the "search for:" field, but I am not able to reuse the "match" in the "search for:" to build the "replace with: expression. What I want to do ? I have files which end with &quo...
