Another computer on the same network

Re: Opening multiple files concomitantly - Behavior
Just for the record - main language is English (UK) but non-unicode language is English (US); it's intentional in order to avoid problems.
Really doubt it could be a Windows bug - note that Explorer works right with either "&" or "a".
Will test tomorrow on a 2004 machine anyway.

Re: Opening multiple files concomitantly - Behavior
Copied some files to a new folder and renamed them to your hardcore diacritical names - it worked.
Back to their original folders, it did not work.
Some guessing and trial and error led me to this:
- original path: M:\MUSICm\ & \D\Debussy=Le martyre de Saint Sébastien ~Luxembourg; Krivine

Re: Opening multiple files concomitantly - Behavior
Anyway, it works good here, also with the 32-bit version - 810a public, strange, I don't know where is the problem. Is your Windows 64-bit?
64 bit, yes.
EDIT: What about file names - any special characters, non-English, diacritical marks?
Certainly. In fact, I don't know about any language ...

Re: Opening multiple files concomitantly - Behavior
My foobar2000 setting (a program with which I'm familiar with) is the same you suggested.
Note that Windows Explorer opens multiple files in foobar2000 as usual.
The one and only setting I changed in FreeCommander was the one you suggested for the rename dialog.
How to get 822 64-bit? Hitting ...

Windows 10 Pro 1909
FreeCommander XE 2020 Build 810a 64-bit donor
foobar2000 1.54 (upgraded from 1.53)
Tested again - same result: only the last file on a FreeCommander list remains on foobar2000 playlist.

Opening multiple files concomitantly - Behavior
It seems the following is not explained in the FAQ.
My music files are registered with foobar2000.
I very often select a number of music files on a folder an hit Enter.
Windows Explorer behavior
foobar2000 is invoked; all files appear in sequence in the playlist and the first one starts playing ...

Unusual behavior
First time user.
Fine interface and features.
Noted a drawback that (in my case) interferes with operations I do very often.
If one tries to rename a folder but a file within that folder is in use by another program, Windows Explorer presents a pop-up named Folder In Use informing of the conflict ...
