Main menu - Edit - Select group...

After activating the main menu item "Edit → Select group..." or the shortcut "+ on the numeric key pad" a dialog is opened, where selection criteria for items (files and/or folders) of the active panel can be defined.

Specify name pattern

In the combo box "Specify name pattern" the name (including extension) of the files and/or folders to be selected can be entered. The following possibilities are offered:

  • Manual editing
The file name can be typed directly.
  • Using wildcards
Wildcards can be used at any position of the name. The wildcard "*" represents one or several alphanumeric or numeric characters. "?" represents one alphanumeric or numeric character.
  • Searching different items
Separated by ";" can be searched for different items. Example: "*.doc;a*.docx;*.txt"
  • History

After activating the button a selection list is shown, with the last inputs in this field. Clicking a row in this selection list overwrites the contents of the input field with the contents of the clicked row.

Select predefined filter

  • Selection field "Select predefined filter"
Clicking the combo box "Select predefined filter" opens a selection list with predefined filters.
  • Button

Activating the button opens the filter definition dialog. This dialog can also be opened with the main menu item "Folder → Filter → Set filter". Selecting a filter overwrites the contents of the input field with "<Filter>:" + "contents of the filter".

Apply to folders, too

If this option is checked, also folders are selected that apply to the defined filter criteria. Otherwise only files are selected.

Add items to current selection

If this option is checked, items are selected that apply to the defined filter criteria. Previously selected items remain selected.

Within current selection only

If this option is checked, the number of previously selected items is reduced by the defined filter criteria. Previously selected items that apply to the actual filter criteria remain selected. Previously selected items that do not apply to the filter criteria are unselected.
